Located in Ube City, Kotozaki Hachimangu traces its origins to the year 859, when a divided spirit being carried from Usa Jingu to Iwashimizu Hachimangu stopped at Ube to avoid a storm. For more than a thousand years since, it has been cherished as a guardian shrine of Ube. Dedicating Emperor Ojin, Emperor Chuai, and Empress Jingu, it is known for blessings of safe childbirth, matchmaking, and family safety.
