• The "Ashiyu" footbath: Located in Awara Onsen Yu-no-Machi Plaza. Open 7:00 to 23:00, year-round, and free of charge (towels are sold separately). Built entirely of hinoki cypress with Shakudani stone from Fukui Prefecture, it has 5 different tubs and can accommodate up to 34 people at a time.
• Day-use bathing: The municipal hot spring facility Centopia Awara is open 10:00 to 23:00 (last admission 22:30) and closed on the third Tuesday of each month (the following day when that is a public holiday). Admission is 600 yen for high school students and above, 360 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and 240 yen for children aged 3 and over. Payment is cash only, and there is no accommodation.
• Hot spring sources: Awara Onsen has 74 sources, and because each facility manages its own source, the spring quality and water temperature differ from one facility to another.
• Access: Awara-Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and the Hapi-Line Fukui railway is about 4 km from the hot spring district, so use a Keifuku bus, a taxi, the Awara Gurutto Taxi (600 yen per section) or a rental car. From Awara-Yunomachi Station on the Echizen Railway it is about a 2-minute walk to the Ashiyu footbath.
