Kusatsu's Unique Bath Culture

"Yumomi" is a unique bathing culture that has continued at Kusatsu Onsen since the Edo period. Since Kusatsu's spring temperature is very high, the method of cooling without adding water by mixing with long wooden paddles developed here.

Free Performance Experience

Multiple "Yumomi Shows" are performed daily at Netsu-no-yu. Women in matching yukata sing "Kusatsu yoitoko ichido wa oide" (Come to Kusatsu, you must come at least once) while performing yumomi, offering free observation. Tourists can also try yumomi themselves.

Kusatsu's Seasons and Annual Events

Summer features large festivals and outdoor concerts, while the winter ski season makes combined hot spring and skiing trips popular. Enjoy Kusatsu Onsen bustling through all seasons.
