Dogo Onsen to Matsuyama Castle One Day Course
This is the royal road route linking Matsuyamas two great sights, Dogo Onsen and Matsuyama Castle, easily connected by the city tram. Enjoy the hot spring town in the morning and the view from the keep in the afternoon.
Course Route
9:00 Start at Dogo Onsen Honkan Look up at the dignified Meiji era building and try a steamed hot spring bun in the nearby shopping arcade.
10:30 Stroll through Dogo Wander leisurely past footbaths and spots tied to the novel Botchan.
12:00 Tram to Okaido for lunch Enjoy local flavors such as sea bream rice at a restaurant in central Matsuyama.
14:00 Ropeway up to Matsuyama Castle Climb the surviving hilltop keep for a sweeping view of the Seto Inland Sea and the city.
16:00 Rest in Shiroyama Park Walk among the greenery and take in the scenery to close out the day.
