Hoshinooka Onsen

In the Hoshioka area of Matsuyama, Hoshinooka Onsen rises at the foot of the Hoshigaoka castle ruins. This community-rooted bath lets visitors enjoy alkaline water drawn from a thousand meters underground across a wide range of pools.

Access and Basic Information

About 15 minutes by car from central Matsuyama and easily reached from Matsuyama Airport. It is open year-round from morning until night.

The carbonated bath is lukewarm and suited to a long, relaxed soak. Pausing at the dining area afterward is a nice way to finish.
