Within Phoenix Seagaia Resort, a large resort spreading along the coast of Miyazaki City, Shosenkyu stands amid a lush green pine forest. It is a bathing hall embraced by pine groves that look toward the Pacific, where you can enjoy the refined bathing only a resort can offer.

Highlights

The water drawn up from a depth of a thousand meters is a chloride spring containing minerals of an ancient sea, and it is known as a beauty bath. The open air pools surrounded by pines are wonderfully open, letting you savor the water together with the sea breeze passing between the trees. Along with the great bath Tsukuyomi and the middle bath Shingetsu, there are detached baths of differing character, each offering a distinct soak. The atmosphere of the halls named after the moon is another charm unique to this spring.

Enjoying the Seasons

In spring the pine grove greens with new buds, and in summer the whole resort comes alive. In autumn, amid the clear air, the sky beyond the pines feels high and vast. In winter, within the mild climate of Miyazaki, you can savor the luxury of soaking slowly in an open air bath ringed by pines. Being pleasant all year is a charm of this place.

Access and Basic Information

It is about twenty minutes by car from central Miyazaki City and easy to reach from Miyazaki Airport as well. It is also reachable by public transport, about twenty five minutes by bus from Miyazaki Station and about thirty minutes by bus from Miyazaki Airport. Located within the resort, it is of course enjoyable alongside a stay, but it also welcomes day visitors. Checking the facility guide for hours and fees before you go brings peace of mind.

A Quick Tip

The resort offers a variety of facilities such as dining and a spa, so spending a full relaxed day combined with a bath is recommended. While the sea breeze at the open air bath is pleasant, dry off promptly after bathing so you do not catch a chill.
