Bizan no Yu: Day-Use Hot Spring Baths & Prices

This natural hot spring with a view sits on the top floor of a hotel near the station in central Tokushima City. Easy to drop into at the start or end of a journey, it is beloved as an in-town bathing spot.

Enjoying the Seasons

In summer, stroll the streets buzzing with the Awa Odori festival after your bath; in autumn, watch Mount Bizan turn color from the tub. In winter, warming up and then trying a bowl of Tokushima ramen at a local shop makes a fine outing. Walk southwest from Tokushima Station and you reach the ropeway base station, about seven minutes from the summit, so a half-day plan pairing a soak with the view from Mount Bizan is also recommended.

It is inside a hotel in Motomachi, Tokushima City. Within walking distance of JR Tokushima Station, it enjoys excellent public-transport access. Day-use bathing is available for non-guests as well.

A Quick Tip

For the night view, the hour after sunset is especially fine. Being close to the station, it also works for a quick soak while waiting for a train.

There are about 50 spaces in the tower and ground-level car parks combined, 66 coin-operated ground-level spaces, and about 400 spaces in the multi-storey car park
• How long to allow: About an hour for bathing and a rest. Adding a round trip on the ropeway makes it a half-day outing
• To avoid the crowds: The baths open at 7:00 in the morning, so after 9:00, once the overnight guests' morning baths have died down, is the best time
