On the eastern outskirts of Akita city, at the base of the forested Taiheizan ridge, stands Miyoshi Shrine — one of the most important Shinto shrines in Akita Prefecture and a destination particularly revered by those seeking blessings for victory, success in competition, and achievement in martial arts.
