• Spring quality: An alkaline simple hot spring. With a pH of 10.1, it is said to have the highest alkalinity in Saga Prefecture. Its silky, slippery feel on the skin is its hallmark.

• Bathing areas: The men's bath, Ukidake no Yu, has an open-air bath, a dry sauna (with loyly service) and a lying-down bath; the women's bath, Medake no Yu, has an open-air bath, a mist sauna and a lying-down bath.
• Open-air baths: Available in both the men's and women's baths.
• Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 (last admission 20:30).

From the Mitsuse direction, take Prefectural Route 299 and the wide-area farm road (Hokuten Green Road), then National Route 323 toward Karatsu and Nanayama.
• Access (by public transport): About 20 minutes on a Showa Bus service from Hamasaki Station on the JR Chikuhi Line, getting off at the Nananoyu bus stop. From Hamasaki Station it is about 15 minutes by taxi. From central Fukuoka, take the subway and JR Chikuhi Line toward Karatsu for about 1 hour 15 minutes, get off at Hamasaki Station and change to the bus.
• To avoid the crowds: Weekend afternoons tend to be the busiest. Mornings just after opening, and after 17:00 when the evening discount starts, are relatively calm.
