Hakusan Ichirino Onsen, a Highland Spa at the Foot of Hakusan

๐ŸŽจ Ishikawa|June 30, 2026

Hakusan Ichirino Onsen

A hot spring spreading across a highland in the mountains of Hakusan City, along the road toward the Hakusan Shirakawago White Road. Cool in summer and blanketed in snow in winter, it offers richly expressive nature through all four seasons. It is also cherished as a base for climbing Hakusan and for skiing.

Highlights

Soaking in the clear highland air is a special pleasure, letting you rest while taking in the surrounding forests and peaks. In winter there is a ski area boasting some of the widest slopes in Ishikawa, and the luxury of warming up in the hot spring after a full day on the snow is easily realized here.

Enjoying the Seasons

Spring brings lingering snow and fresh greenery, while summer charms with the coolness of a highland retreat. Autumn covers the plateau in crimson leaves, and winter offers winter sports to the full on fine-quality snow.

Access and Basic Information

About 70 minutes by car heading south on National Route 157 from the Hakusan interchange on the Hokuriku Expressway. In the winter season, ski buses may run from the Kanazawa Station and Komatsu areas. As this is mountain country, snow-ready tires are needed in winter; please confirm operating status with the official information.

A Quick Tip

Mountain weather changes quickly, so prepare well against the cold and for snowy roads in winter. Even in summer the mornings and evenings are cool, so carrying an extra layer is reassuring.
