Sanuki Udon

The most famous regional udon in Japan. The exceptionally firm, chewy noodles are typically eaten cold in a simple iri-ko broth. 700+ shops in one small prefecture.

Honetsuki-dori

Marugame City's bold specialty โ€” whole chicken leg marinated in spices, roasted at high heat until the skin blisters and crackles.

Shodoshima Olive

Shodoshima Island is the birthplace of Japanese olive cultivation. Olive oil, pickled olives, olive beef and olive pork are celebrated products.

Shoyu Mame

Kagawa's traditional snack โ€” roasted soybeans simmered in soy sauce, sugar and chilli.

Sanuki Wasanbon Sugar

Kagawa's artisan sugar used in higashi dry sweets and fine confectionery throughout Shikoku.

Access

Takamatsu, Marugame and Zentsuji have the greatest density of udon shops. Many open early and close after selling out.
